There will be some other obscure airports (Tirane is one) (try whizz air) you could do a in one and out another (Athens?)
txt us if you are thinking of it over the next few weeks.

  1. Dear Nic and Jon
The more I read of your trip,, the more I look forward to the possiblility of redundancy! Your blog is fantastic.
Just back from the rather grey Pyrennees with Jules. Not great weather, though no wind at all - so we cycled up the passes in shorts and t shirts and cycled down them wearing everything we owned including plastic garage gloves (do you remember a while back in France in April Jon and those cunning bottle-end wind cheaters you made...well we could have done with some for sure!)
Roads were completely empty...even the Tourmalet saw only a handful of cars in 2 hrs of cycling.
All the farmers have written on every road " Non aux ours" which translates as 'lets shoot the last remaining 18 bears in the Pyrennees'. There's more non aux ours than Carlos Satres or Vivre le Tour!
Wiggins goes against Cancellera in the World Time Trial in Switzerland tomorrow.
I went for my first run in 4 weeks last night and ended up with what felt like a massive tear in my quad! It took me 45 minutes to limp and hop just 1 mile back to the car (by which time I had missed wheelers though couldn't actually have swung my leg over a bike in any case.) I plodded home and then even had to lift my leg over the front door step as the pain was too severe! I packed it with peas, swallowed ibuprofen, rubbed it with arnica. Again, getting in to bed was a real problem too. So in disbelief (5 days til 3peaks), I fell asleep. This morning the pain has almost gone and it just feels like a small tear or something. I wonder if it was a severe cramp a la Morgan's Tebay race, from too much cycling??
Anyway, gonna have to do nowt now til the 3 peaks and then just hope it holds up.
Best get back to work. Yes work! It's great and I love it! Of course.
Keep on writing ....it keeps us all happy and helps us all to get up in the morning.
    Lve Phil
